The investor Group was formed in May, 2002 when it was determined that a number of members were ntrested in the markets and wanted to participate. It was decided we would create a model portfolio of Canadian equities which we would follow over time in hopes of achieving some growth and have some fun in the process.

Starting with "virtual" seed money of $200,000, we created a portfolio which for diversification, was divided into five industry segments; Consumer, Stocks, Financial Services, Resources, Utilities and Pipelines and Industiral. Individual members agreed to take responsobility for following one the sectors and report on the performance of stocks at the monthly meeting and make recommendations for actions (if any) to be taken. A report is issued at the end of each month for presentation to members at the monthly meeting which takes place in a private room at Amica in Bronte the second Thursday of each month. The performance of the portfolio has been followed meticulously, including dividens which are added to the cash. As of the end of October 2022 the portfolio value was $1,088,968 starting from the $200,000 seed money. Although we did not claim to be wiser than the market, we have outperformced the TSE consistently.
